Slip Sliding Away
We hope you all got through the cold snap okay and unharmed. As for us well, let’s just say we had an interesting journey back from the beautiful Sheen Falls Hotel, Kenmare, and Friday night / Saturday morning. The roads and surface around the hotel were very dangerous but, testament to my fellow band members they soldiered on, and we had a wonderful night of music for Martin & Shelia’s wedding. On Saturday we were a bit closer to home in The Shirley arms hotel, Carrickmacross where we entertained some Christmas staff parties. We had such a super night, and the floor was full nonstop. The conga line, led by our Sax player Evan, that left the function room and went in around the bar and restaurant was a particular highlight. All in all a really great weekend.
This week Weddings
This week we have some travelling to loch Eske hotel, Donegal and more local in the beautiful Riverbank Country House, Killany. We’re really looking forward to these shows.
Cheque Presentation
We finally got the chance to present our fundraising cheque of €2610 to Helen at Carickmacross Dog Shelter. Myself and my wonderful wife Marion travelled over to present the cheque. Before we did though Helen kindly gave a tour and a chance to meet some of her new arrivals. Indeed, there are some very sad stories here of mis treatment of these wonderful little pets, from their owners and we believe that our money raised will contribute to making their stay more comfortable and secure.
Last Showcase of 2022
This Wednesday is the last of our virtual showcases for 2022. It’s been a great learning for me, and I plan on enhancing the experience next year.
Get well soon
Finally, just a get well to our amazing drummer Mark who is such an integral part of the band and we can’t wait until your back in action with us in 2023.
