Frequently Asked Questions

We are often asked a range of questions about how Booking Wedding Bands or your wedding night might go in relation to the band and DJ setup times, the flow of the evening and sometimes about booking the band. So we took the time to put together a few questions and answers to help you in your research and planning. We are always here to answer any other questions you may have. Just contact us if you have any questions.

How do we book the band?

You can secure The Brendan McCahey Band for your wedding or event with a deposit of €400 euro with any credit or debit card. You will receive a confirmation email and that’s it. Confirmed!

We keep in touch and organise the finer details as we get a little closer to the big day but please feel free to contact us at any stage with any questions you may have along the way….

How long do the band play for?

It is an important factor to consider when booking a wedding band in Ireland. The band would play for 3 hours with our DJ continuing on until Hotel Curfew. We are always very flexible and can work within each couple’s pre-arranged time schedule.

Will it be very loud?

We ensure a quality show from start to finish. At any point in the night if you would like us to turn the volume down or up, we will be glad to do so.

Should we choose a playlist?

We always welcome any suggestions towards the playlist for the night. Especially when there are “Must Have” tunes that need to be heard on the night then we are happy to make it them a priority. You are not required to select songs for the evening and usually, the best plan is to leave the overall show to us. We read the crowd on as we go and see what they like and prefer.

Will you play our First Dance?

We absolutely love playing the first dance. We have been asked for some amazing and quirky songs in our time. It’s always a very special moment and we are honoured to be a part of it. We also don’t mind if you prefer the original version from the CD. The only requirement for a first song is advance notice! We have played a lot of popular songs before but if your first dance really is a bit different, check out our spotify playlist In case you need inspiration

Are you available?

That is a good question. You should Check Availability straight away as dates fill up quickly. If you have a date in mind, call or whatsapp on 0879654330 now or email brendanmccahey@gmail.com But best practice is to go to our Check Availability page and fill in your details.

What is involved with booking The Brendan McCahey Band

  1. Check out our Showcase

We regularly perform live and virtual Showcases. Get in touch with us to find out when and where our next one is.

  1. Quote

Give as much detail about your wedding or event as you can at this point. We will give you a quote and the best fit for your big day.  We pride ourselves on NEVER throwing in hidden extras, and we regard our quote as a promise to not change the price.

  1. Deposit

Once you are happy with the quote, you can pay a deposit to reserve that night for you – this is usually done by credit/debit card, bank transfer or cash.

  1. Details & Schedule

Now that you have paid a deposit, we are all yours!  We pride ourselves on our service, and we are available to chat during business hours, whenever you have an idea or concern.  From this stage we’ll start gathering some more details about your function, and this is often done via our internet form.

  1. Music Selection

Try to have your song selection ideas, including any first dance, finalised 4 weeks beforehand.

  1. Confirmation of all details

We will have all your details on our ‘Wedding Details Form’ which will have been completed at the time of booking. We will give you a call 2 – 3 weeks before your date to confirm all your details. We love it when people are really organised and get this stuff done earlier!

  1. On the day

The band will usually arrive at your venue 60-90mins before the start time you give us.  The band arrival time will depend on the size of band you require for the night.

  1. On the night

During the function, the band will continuously liaise with your function coordinator (for weddings usually best man or bridesmaid) to ensure that the night runs smoothly.

  1. Payment

Payment needs to be finalised on the night in cash. This means that we can then pay the rest of the band right then and there.
